Lynne Weygint - Director of Religious Education

Lynne Weygint comes to First Parish with twelve years of experience in religious education at Follen Church, also in Lexington, that includes teaching, leading worship, as a member and then co-chair of the Religious Education Committee, facilitator of adult workshops, and several years as a designer and leader of the middle school youth groups. She is also the co-author, with Dr. John Dacey, of the book, "The Joyful Family: Meaningful Activities and Heartfelt Celebrations for Connecting with the Ones You Love," published by Conari Press in the fall of 2001.

A lifelong Unitarian Universalist, Lynne began her career as a graphic designer, becoming more and more passionate about religious education as her two sons (now 13 and 18) moved through their religious education classes. She began her volunteer involvement in religious education immediately after joining Follen Church in 1992, and hasn't stopped since, becoming more and more engaged as the years went on. Her decision to pursue a career as a religious educator was born from the aliveness she feels whenever faced with the creative challenges inherent in planning, organizing, directing, and implementing programming in a faith community.
