On Sunday, June 12, the Adult Choir will sing "Let Us Love in Peace," by Andrew
Lloyed Webber, in honor of Gay Pride.

BUT WAIT! As they say in the informercials, THERE'S MORE!

We will also have a special Family Choir opportunity to sing Lady Ga-Ga's "Born
This Way." Anyone of any age who wants to participate in singing this song in
praise of diversity and acceptance, please join us in the sanctuary to practice
"Born This Way" at 10am (the Adult Choir will meet at 9:45 to practice hymns and
the Lloyd Webber piece).

"Born This Way" is a song of self-acceptance and self-love, and also speaks of
the genius of God in creating such a diverse world ("God makes no mistakes,"
says the lyric). This powerful, contemporary statement of tolerance speaks not
only of gender and sexuality, but of ethnicity, economic life circumstance, and
levels of physical ability. It is a statement of acceptance which is addressed
just as strongly to the self (perhaps more so) than to the world outside the
self. Love begins with the individual. Come help us sing out our pride in who we
are! Help us Go Ga-Ga! Sunday, June 12, 10am in the sanctuary. (Young people who
know the song are especially encouraged to participate! We oldsters need your help. But ALL ARE WELCOME!)
