Youth Programs at First Parish
First Parish has active programs for Middle School and High School aged youth. For more information, please contact Ms. Lynne Weygint, Director of Religious Education (781-862-8200).
Junior High Youth Group
Grades 7-8. Meets Sunday nights, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Activities include games, social action, sharing, sleepovers, and trips.
Senior High Youth Group
Grades 9-12. Senior High Youth Group is youth-run with adult advisors. Meets Sunday nights, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Activities include games, social action, sharing, sleepovers, and trips. (This group is not restricted to members of First Parish.)
Our Whole Lives (OWL)
First Parish will offer two units of this comprehensive sexuality education curriculum: The grade 7-8 unit on Sunday evenings about twice per month with some Saturday through Sunday retreats throughout the year (closed to new participants after first session); the 5-6 grade unit for 8 weeks in the winter in the evening. Parent orientations are mandatory for both units.
Coming of Age Program
"Coming of Age" is the Unitarian Universalist equivalent of confirmation, or bar/bat mitzvah. Participants explore their religious and spiritual identities. Enrollment limited, contact the DRE to enroll.
