Our Ministry
Welcome to First Parish in Lexington. We are the historic church on
Lexington Green that is building the beloved community with peace,
liberty, and justice for all. When you visit our sanctuary, we hope that
you will feel the power and the promise of being part of our 300-year
history and our congregation. We are deeply connected to the roots of
our nation's fight for freedom. This connection propels us forward as
our faith encourages us to affirm and promote justice, equality,
compassion and love.
There is a new and exciting energy at First Parish. It is like the words
of one of our UU hymns, "roots hold me close, wings set me free." Our
roots are certainly deeply embedded in our history and community, yet it
is the wings of our faith, the belief and hope in the unimagined
possibilities of what we can accomplish together as a human family that
allows our minds, hearts and souls to take flight.
There is so much we can do together! Come by! Visit. Listen. Learn.
Feel. Experience. Come again. Celebrate. Join. Be transformed. Be
engaged and help us change the world one heart at a time.
Come for a visit, stay on, take joy in our collective ministry that can
change the world. Our Unitarian Universalist values and principles
offer one another, and our bruised and hurting world, hope, possibility
and purpose.
We look forward to seeing you on Sundays!
