Visiting

We extend a warm welcome to visitors and newcomers.  You are encouraged to join us after the service for coffee and conversation in the Parish Hall, directly behind the sanctuary. Please fill out a "welcome card" to help us get to know you and, if you wish, to begin receiving our newsletter.

Children

Children leave for the Religious Education program mid-way through the service. There is no religious education program in the summer.

Infants and Toddlers

For parents with young children, our nursery on the lower level is available during the Sunday morning service and opens 15 minutes before the service. It is a welcoming place where a paid nursery attendant and volunteers provide play opportunities in a nurturing environment.

The Worship Service

Within services, as a community, we share:

  • Candles of Joys and Sorrow: A time to share important events in our lives.
  • Holidays in the Judeo-Christian church year and reflections on the celebrations of other religious traditions
  • Readings and meditations drawn from sources of wisdom and inspiration from many spiritual traditions and times
  • Services in July and August are conducted by lay members of the congregation - a n opportunity for members of the congregation to create their own worship service and share their ideas or passions.

Music

  • Music enriches our worship services throughout the year.  Our hymns combine familiar music and inspirational verse that respects the diversity of people, and embraces diverse religious practice and tradition.
  • Our adult choir is open to all and brings the gifts of its talents to most services.  Our children's choir performs several times a year and inspires joy as only the voices of children raised in song can do.
  • Instrumental and vocal performances by members of the congregation enhance our services and celebrate the many talents in our community.
